Alan's lifelong career in the advertising industry began when he fell out of a chandelier at McGill University in Montreal and suffered a world record number of bilateral arm fractures in the process.
He was studying French and Drama at the time and decided on the spot to wave goodbye to academia and head South to New York City.
Some months later with arms duly restored, he landed a job as a junior copywriter at BBDO working under the legendary CD Jim Jordan.
After a 2 year stint he returned home to London and quickly established a reputation as an award-winning TV writer.
In 1982 Alan began directing commercials, winning a long list of Cannes, UK and International awards.
It all changed in 2007 when this guy in Hamburg rings up out of the blue and says: "We need you. We've heard some of the layout tracks you've done on your director's cuts."
The rest is history, and what started out as a one-off episode has turned into a full time job, recording for major clients throughout Germany, Europe and the rest of the world.//
